The 2-Year MA Multiplier plots price against its 730-day moving average and against that average multiplied by five. Historically, price below the 2-year MA has marked accumulation zones and price above the 5× line has marked distribution zones. It is the simplest cycle indicator that has kept working.

Where it has been wrong
It is slow by construction — a two-year average takes months to reflect a regime change, so it confirms rather than warns. It also has no opinion on how long price stays under the line, which is the part that hurts.
